Many people start their natural health journey as a result of some big health scare or drama in their life ….. for us it wasn’t like that at all. It was a gradual process. After fracturing her skull as a teenager and a bad car accident in her early 20’s, Shelly has long suffered from neck and back problems, headaches and migraines – and as she neared her 40’s she started suffering the effects of sinus issues. She started using essential oils to help with these issues, but at the time she was purely treating the symptoms as they occurred.
Over time we learned a little more about essential oils and how they can help in all parts of your life and the more we learned and tried things out, the more we fell in love with doTERRA essential oils. I can’t say we live a ‘completely natural life’ and I don’t know if we ever will, but that’s ok. We are incorporating oils into our life as we see fit and we are loving the results we are getting.

What are Essential Oils
Essential oils are naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds which can be found in the flowers, roots, seeds, bark and stems of plants. Essential oils are what gives plants their distinctive smells. These oils are extracted from plants via different methods and can be enjoyed for their beautiful fragrance and health benefits. How Essential Oils work
Essential oils can be used in many ways and for many different things. Whether it’s to help a singular condition, eg peppermint oil for headaches or to help with emotional wellbeing, addition to cooking, general health care or to eliminate chemicals from your life and make your own cleaning products, essential oils can have many different applications.
Oils can be used in the following manners:-
Aromatic – by adding a drop or 2 to a diffuser
Topical – by applying directly onto your skin, generally diluted with a carrier oil*
Food Flavouring – Some oils are suitable to be added to food and drinks*
DIY Cleaning products – Eliminate nasty chemicals and toxins from your life by making your own cleaning products
DIY Personal Care products - Make your own all natural shampoo, soap, sanitiser, bug spray etc
